Clinical Quality Lead

Part-time, 21 hours per week, £36,000 FTE, 6 month contract with possibility of extension

This is an exciting new role to support the Head of Care Quality by providing mentorship support to General Managers, Care Managers and Administrators within the care homes, in order to promote and develop the homes’ performance in the following vital areas:

  • Quality Assurance Systems
  • Care and Care Documentation
  • Use of Management systems (IT)
  • Efficient and effective Budget control across all responsible areas.

This position is required initially for a period of 6 months, when it will then be subject to a review.

About you: 

  • Nurse-qualified with a valid pin and relevant professional qualifications with evidence of continued professional development relevant to the post
  • Strong skills in IT, including MS Office skills and the ability to recommend and implement system improvements & internal controls
  • Ability to build good relationships, learn quickly and adapt to the role and culture of the organisation
  • Good communication/influencing skills/presentation skills
  • Experience of working in a nursing home environment, an understanding of dementia and a champion of person-centred care
  • Ability to coach and mentor
  • Passionate about care & quality
  • An understanding of the not for profit/charitable sector
  • Knowledge of CQC standards and standards of other relevant regulatory bodies
  • A car driver as this role will require travelling to our three nursing homes within Birmingham and responding to emergencies when required

Your role will be to support the home and care manager in providing leadership and direction to the care team and effective 24 hour management of the Home within the available resources. The post holder will have key responsibility for the quality of the standard of care documentation and to ensure that residents receive the BCOP excellent standard of care, working at all times within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

  • £17 per hour

Care Assistant (Days)

You will be responsible for providing care, including personal care, for residents, helping them at mealtimes, encouraging and enabling them to take part in activities.  You must be a caring, self-motivated team-player, a good communicator, able to work on your own initiative. Previous experience of working with older people in a care environment is desirable but not essential.

36 hours per week (8am – 8pm, worked over 3 days, Monday – Sunday on a rota basis)

£8.38 – £8.50  per hour (dependent on qualification) plus 10% enhancement for working weekends and bank holidays, and double time paid for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
